Statement
Thorsten Groetschel – Art is the opportunity to expand one's own perception
Thorsten Groetschel invites the viewer to experience things in his photorealistic paintings. The pictorial quality of the photo is emotionally charged by the painterly choice of colours and the skilful interplay of light and shadow. Experiences of reality refer to other levels of perception through poetic and irritating interference fields, which oscillate between close-up and distant effects in a similar way to memory.
