WEINIG roman
Roman Weinig - imaginary Spaces of Mindfulness
Roman Weinig's hyper-realistic paintings fascinate the observer with zoomed-looking close-ups in surreal, assembled pictorial stories.
In an almost felt psychic congenial relationship with the Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein, Weinig's statements revolve around lostness and hope and are the result of seismographic searching for and recording of global developments in social life with all its distortions and depths, which confront the recipients in everyday life, according to the painter himself.
His painting style is based on a sepia-coloured, detailed raw drawing, followed by a lengthy, high-energy process of partially applied, multilayered colours, which are subsequently further processed by differentiated painting and scratching techniques.
